Altimmune is a late-stage clinical biopharmaceutical company focused on serious liver disease. The Company’s lead candidate, pemvidutide*, is a novel dual-action therapy targeting both glucagon and GLP-1 receptors in development for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), alcohol use disorder (AUD), and alcohol-associated liver disease (ALD). Designed to address both the cause and the consequence of serious liver disease, pemvidutide pairs direct liver effects through glucagon receptor activity with the metabolic benefits of GLP-1 activity. Pemvidutide has received Fast Track and Breakthrough Therapy Designations from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for MASH and Fast Track Designation for AUD.
